Neil Heckerman, P.E., MBA
Neil leads the Instrumentation & Controls and Project & Risk Management efforts at H2E and is a registered Professional Engineer in Idaho, Montana, Washington & Wyoming. Neil has 21 years of experience in the Specification, Application and Design of Process Instrumentation and Control Systems, PLC and DCS SCADA Systems, Construction Support, Electrical Inspection Services, and Project Management. Project responsibilities included control strategy development, preparation of Process Flow and Operational Descriptions (PFOD’s), preparation of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), detailed instrumentation design including control system logic, I/O drawings and intelligent alarm networks. Additional project responsibilities include project cost estimation, return on investment analysis, and earned value calculations.
Neil has extensive computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Software Products, numerous PLC and SCADA programming languages and custom programming applications. He also serves as a founding officer in the Project Management Institute (PMI) Inland Northwest Chapter. Neil earned a BS & MS in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University and an MBA from Washington State University.
Doug Lauer, P.E., MBA, PMP
Doug co-leads the Power team at H2E and is a registered Professional Engineer in Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Nebraska. Doug has over 18 years of experience in the field of Electrical and Controls Engineering. His experience includes the application and Design of Process Instrumentation and Control Systems, PLC and HMI/SCADA Systems, application and Design of Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems, Project Management and Support, Construction Management and Support, Electrical Inspection Services, Equipment Specification and Procurement and Technical Specification development. Mr. Lauer has extensive experience in industrial control systems, low voltage distribution systems and medium voltage distribution systems.
Project responsibilities included Specification Development, Scheduling, Cost Controls, Operational Documentation, preparation of motor control diagrams, panel diagrams, area classification diagrams, power distribution diagrams, control strategy development, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams and Operational Descriptions. Additional responsibilities include feasibility studies, project cost-estimation, and return on investment and payback analysis. Doug has broad computer skills including the use of electrical modeling programs and Microsoft products such as word processing, project scheduling programs, spreadsheets, power point, and email programs. Doug has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Jesse McDaniel, P.E.
Jesse co-leads the power team at H2E and is a registered Professional Engineer in Idaho. Jesse has over 17 years of experience in the field of Electrical and Controls Engineering. He started his career out as an industrial facilities engineer including five years with U.S.S Posco (a U.S. Steel & Pohang Steel joint venture) and five years with Kaiser Aluminum. He then transitioned from the industrial world to the consulting world and has spent the last five years providing electrical and controls engineering design to a large variety of industrial clients. His experience includes the application and Design of Process Instrumentation and Control Systems, PLC and HMI / SCADA Systems, application and Design of Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems, Project Management and Support, Construction Management and Support, Electrical Inspection Services, Equipment Specification and Procurement and Technical Specification development. Jesse has extensive experience in industrial control systems, low voltage distribution systems and medium voltage distribution systems.
Jesse has extensive computer skills including the use of electrical/power modeling programs (ETAP & Easy Power), Microsoft Office suite of products, several computer operating systems, numerous PLC and SCADA programming languages and scheduling software. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
Troy Pefley, P.E., MBA
Troy leads the software and communications team at H2E and is a registered Professional Engineer in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana. He has over 18 years of experience in the Specification, Application, and Design of PLC and SCADA Control Systems, Communication Systems, Telemetry Systems and Startup/Commissioning Support. Project responsibilities included control strategy development using preparation of Process Flow and Operational Descriptions (PFOD’s), local area network (LAN) and telemetry system design with physical and Radio media, and construction and start-up commissioning assistance. Additional responsibilities include statistical process and control analysis, project cost-estimation, and return on investment and payback analysis.
Troy has wide-ranging computer skills including Microsoft Office suite products, several computer operating systems, numerous PLC and SCADA programming languages, custom programming applications, and web editors. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University and an MBA from Washington State University.
Doug Ransdell
Doug is responsible for leading business development and marketing efforts at H2E. He has over 30 years of experience in project delivery methodology; scheduling, staffing, security, quality controls, construction management, contract management, new system integration, client coordination interface, start-up and commissioning. Doug's experience includes domestic and international operations.
Doug has extensive computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Software Products, Excel, Primavera Scheduling software, and other managerial and scheduling packages.
Mark Tiffany, P.E.
Mark is responsible for excellence in all aspects of Power Engineering at H2E and is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Washington, and Alaska. He has 18 years of experience in Project Engineering and Management, Design, Estimating, Construction Support, and Commissioning. Mark’s responsibilities include power systems studies and design, including motor starting studies, system modeling, load flow studies, short circuit coordination studies, power quality studies and protective relaying coordination studies, drawing development, specification development construction startup assistance, and commissioning. He is also responsible for the design and specification of medium and high voltage equipment for power substations, unit substations and distribution lines and has experience in substation automation and advanced electronic metering. Mark has extensive experience designing and specifying 480V Motor Control Centers and 5kV motor starters and motor controls, medium voltage switchgear, and power generation.
Mark has broad computer skills including the use of electrical modeling programs such as Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP), EDSA, Dapper/Captor and Microsoft products such as word processing, project scheduling programs, spreadsheets, power point, and email programs. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University.
