Upper Falls Powerhouse Phase I |
Continuing the long-standing relationship with Avista Utilities, H2E has been awarded the follow-on contract to assist with Phase I of the Upper Falls Powerhouse upgrade. H2E will provide design engineering services and construction support for the replacement of the underground utility duct bank which was built in 1921. Phase I is the first of two phases to upgrade the Upper Falls Powerhouse with infrastructure and state-of-the-art gear. |

H2E is pleased to announce the signing of a Blanket Contract Release agreement with Fluor Global Services. This agreement establishes H2E has met all of the requirements set forth by Fluor to perform engineering services. The agreement allows Fluor to execute contracts with H2E wherever Fluor feels they may need the services H2E provides. WTP CO2 Storage Recirc and Blast |
H2E is teamed with Wagstaff, Incorporated to develop CO2 Pellet Blasting Systems ($1.5M) for the Bechtel National Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) Project. H2E's role is to provide system engineering design and integration of the OEM TOMCO Cryogenic Storage/Pumping and Coldjet Pelletizer / Blaster subsystems. H2E will also design and fabricate Main Communications Panel that interfaces with the WTP Integrated Control Network and the OEM subsystem controllers. Once design and fabrication are complete, H2E will assist in the development of full function test procedures and testing performance to verify CO2 Pellet Blasting System performance.

Generating Station Automation Upgrade |
H2E was awarded the Avista Kettle Falls Generating Station automation upgrade. The generating station operates a 50 MW GE Steam Turbine, and is currently controlled by a VME logic system hardwired to a mimic panel that provides safety interlocks for the natural gas train of the boiler. The upgrade will include redundant ControlLogix systems and a Wonderware touchscreen.

H2E's latest project is in support of the relocating two (2) 4160 VAC compressors and one (1) new compressor to a newly commissioned switchgear room. This project includes providing all electrical and controls drawings to facilitate the relocation effort, providing software (SCADA) engineering for both the PLC and HMI systems, construction support, and startup & commissioning support of the compressor system.

H2E is part of the Wagstaff, Incorporated Design-Build Team that is developing the Low Activated Waste (LAW) Canister Receipt Conveyor Systems for the WTP. H2E is responsible for detailed electrical and control system design of the systems that are used to transport new empty LAW Canisters on multiple conveyor sections through a series of airlock doors, form a loading dock area up to a conveyor that serves the dual function of a conveyor and hatch.

H2E is part of the Wagstaff, Incorporated Design-Build Team that is developing the Low Activated Waste (LAW) and Pretreatment Facility (PTF) Bogie systems for the WTP. H2E is responsible for detailed electrical and control system design of the Laser Guided Bogie Systems that will operate in unmanned cells to transport canisters containing radioactive material between processing stations. A ‘bogie' is a four-wheeled trolley that travels on a pair of parallel rails.
