NEIL HECKERMAN, P.E. Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
Mr. Heckerman’s technical expertise lies in control system design, process instrumentation, project management and construction support. In his capacity at H2E he’s responsible for the preparation of process flow diagrams, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) evaluations, control system logic, I/O drawings and intelligent alarm networks. He has six years of experience as a facility engineer and nineteen years of experience as a consulting engineer. He honed his instrumentation and controls background in the nuclear research industry with Westinghouse and has continued to develop industry leading systems for material handling and process facilities. His educational background includes graduation from Montana State University with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and from Washington State University with a Master in Business Administration. Mr. Heckerman carries a PE stamp in nine of the United States.
TROY PEFLEY, P.E. Senior SCADA & Communications Engineer
Mr. Pefley has over 20 years of expertise in the specification, application and design of network topologies, communication systems, processing platforms and software engineering for industrial, municipal and process facilities. As a founder of H2E, he is responsible for network and communication system design and implementation, functional development of process control systems, custom interface development, and system commissioning. Troy’s years of experience include the design and application of electromechanical machines for Boeing, nuclear inventory security systems for Westinghouse & Protec, Inc., process control engineering for Oceaneering and software development for Casne Engineering. He’s also taught seminars on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems and authored software development standards for several corporations. Mr. Pefley graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Washington State University with a Master in Business Administration. Mr. Pefley carries a PE stamp in four of the United States.
MARK TIFFANY, P.E. Senior Power Engineer & Controls Engineer
Mr. Tiffany’s expertise is in medium and low voltage power systems, large rotating machines, including generation, protective relaying, computer-based electrical system modeling, power management systems, facility substation design, rectification systems, motor control centers, and emergency/standby systems. As a consultant, he exercises his experience in mining, cement, pulp and paper to name a few. He has over 25 years of electrical engineering experience. He obtained his initial practical knowledge in complex power systems while working for 10 years as the lead electrical engineer in the petrochemical industry with Chevron, and three years as a lead electrical engineer in the light metals industry with Kaiser Aluminum. In addition he’s also consulted for utilities in substation design and hydro generator protection. Mr. Tiffany is nationally recognized for his work in developing power monitoring and management systems. He graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Tiffany carries a PE stamp in three of the United States.
DOUG LAUER, P.E. Senior Electrical Engineer
Mr. Lauer handles responsibilities in electrical and control system design, electrical system modeling, power system design, and technical specification development for industrial projects. Related tasking includes the application and design of process instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA systems, and medium & low voltage power distribution systems. Additionally included are project management and construction management and related support, electrical inspection services, equipment specification, and procurement. Mr. Lauer has over twenty years of experience in Electrical and Controls Engineering. He started his career years with USS-Posco where he served as the Manager of Electrical Maintenance and Automation. He then spent eleven years with the Boise Cascade Corporation as a Chief Electrical Engineer. Finally, he’s been with H2E Inc. for nine years. Mr. Lauer graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and then received a Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He carries a PE stamp in eleven U.S. states.
JESSE MCDANIEL, P.E. Senior Electrical Engineer
Mr. McDaniel’s expertise includes the application and design of process instrumentation and control systems, PLC and HMI / SCADA systems, as well as design of medium and low voltage power distribution systems, project management and support, construction management and support, electrical inspection services, equipment specification & procurement, and technical specification development. Jesse has over fifteen years of experience in the field of Electrical and Controls Engineering. He started his career as an industrial facilities engineer, including five years with USS-Posco and five years with Kaiser Aluminum. He then transitioned from the end-user world to the consulting world and has spent the last eleven years with H2E providing engineering & design services to a large variety of industrial clients. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. McDaniel carries an Electrical Engineering PE stamp.
